What is it that makes a new habit stick, or that turns that new routine we’re awkwardly trying on for size into easy, fluid muscle memory? How can we find a sense of rhythm in our daily routine? In spite of all the unanswered question I have about rhythm and routine, this one truth I keep coming back to that keeps me grounded.Read More
We all know that feeling: you’ve been cruising along fine until suddenly, you realize you’ve fallen out of love with some part of your reality. We all know what it’s like to need a change, even when we have no idea how to make it happen. And it’s true that there are no magic words you can say out loud that flip some cosmic switch, or make the ‘perfect thing’ fall right into your lap. But there is real magic that happens when you start saying the thing you want out loud.Read More
A lot of the time when we talk about what it’s like to be a sensitive person, we wind up focusing on the challenges. In a lot of ways, that makes sense. Because the list of things that can feel especially heavy, or stressful, or overwhelming for us is a long one. I’m definitely guilty of focusing on that list too, partly because it feels like an important way to acknowledge and honor the complexities of our experiences. It’s why I spend time and energy writing about things like what to do when our relationships feel out of balance, how to diffuse overwhelming fear, and how to know when it's safe to push our boundaries.Read More
When feelings of uncertaintly and discontent pop up, it’s super natural to cling to the questions of, “What’s going on here?” and “How do I fix it?” – but sometimes the hunt for those answers can suck the drive and motivation right out of us. We've talked about being an antenna vs. being a ‘hunter’, and learning to trust that we’ll be receptive and ready to receive the information we need as it comes. I’ve realized that here, in this space we’ve created at Bloomology, we tend to 'go big.'

We willingly deep-dive into big, weighty questions that might stir up some uncomfortable feelings or tough questions within ourselves.Read More
Last month, I had an entire weekend completely and totally to myself. My guy was out of town, I had no plans, and zero obligations all weekend. Every now and again I relish having a weekend like that, for the chance to go full-introvert and reboot. I love the feeling of having unlimited time to tackle whatever I feel called to. I always imagine myself striking that perfect balance of Indulgent and Productive: crossing a thousand things off my to-do list, making myself amazing meals in my sparkling clean kitchen, squeezing in a manicure in between rearranging my furniture and finishing that novel on my nightstand. I’ll be a beacon of productivity! I tell myself.
But total freedom never quite feels – or works out – the way I imagine it will.Read More
Sometimes, knowing what we want isn’t as simple as it sounds. We make choices all the time that shape the way we live. What to do for a living, who to foster close relationships with, where to live, what our relationships look and feel like, how to start our day, how to end our day, the kind of relationships we have with ourselves. And in theory, we make those choices based on some understanding of what we want, or what feels good, or what works for us.
But what if ‘what you want’ feels totally unclear?Read More
Meaningful change is overwhelming, and focusing on all the things between you and the finish line can take the wind right out of your sails. But narrowing your focus to one small, manageable step can be enough to help you get that first bit of traction - and finding fulfillment in seeing that one thing through with soul and with purpose helps build momentum. That momentum is key for making meaningful progress towards things that matter.Read More
